This practical, CPD accredited, course covers everything you need to know to recreate traditional faux marbling, painting flat surfaces to resemble marble, developing your skills in a nurturing studio environment. This course can be combined with the Wood Graining course to make a two-day course. In the morning you’ll learn about the traditional and modern uses of faux marbling as well as surface preparation and mixing glazes. In the afternoon you’ll use the knowledge gained in the morning to create a sample piece. This course is suitable for students of all abilities with a basic understanding of paints, decorating materials and equipment. It's perfect for homeowners and DIYers, professional painters and decorators, conservators and restorers, scenic artists and set designers, building custodians and specifiers, and craftspeople. Your tutor is Simon Nobs of South Coast Studio. Simon has been providing a high quality painting and decorating service for 35+ years to clients across the UK and Europe, focusing on the more artistic side of interior decoration. Simon has designed and created a range of workshops to teach, red-listed traditional decorative paint techniques. Our class sizes are small, so you'll have a chance to engage with the tutor while you work. All materials and tools required for the course will be provided. This course takes place on Saturday 3 October, 9.45am-4:30pm. There will be a short break for lunch each day and tea/coffee is provided.
