TALK - The Failure of 1930s Appeasement

Join us on Friday 31st July in the Museum at 2pm, as Lee Steptoe explains why Britain and France made no serious attempt to stop the aggressive expansion of dictators in the 1930s, as fear of another war, economic weakness, and misplaced trust in negotiation allowed their ambitions to go unchecked before the outbreak of World War II. Lee is currently a town and district councillor, and is deeply invested in the past, present, and future of the town. Believing that understanding history is essential to building a better future, Lee joined Grantham Museum as a Trustee to help preserve and share the stories that shape the community.
