Sea Glass Setting Day (BH12W6YHA) Spend a creative day in the jewellery making workshop learning all the techniques needed to be able to craft your own piece of silver jewellery with a stunning piece of sea glass. You will learn how to: Select appropriate materials for your design Form fine silver to create a setting for your sea glass. Form sheet or wire to create your ring / pendant Texture your ring shank with hammers or the rolling mill Solder components Saw pierce / cut the base of your setting Add fixings and findings Set sea glass Polish your work Level: Suitable for total beginners and those with some experience Materials: In addition to the course fee and will be approx £30-£60 depending on your design and size of glass you choose. Botanical metal – Leaf pendant / earrings (BF13W6YHa) New course! Discover the fascinating technique of fold forming to create a pendant or earrings inspired by nature. Form, pierce, texture, file and polish a leaf design of your choice. In this engaging jewellery making workshop, you’ll learn how to create your own beautiful fold formed leaf from start to finish. You will incorporate striking textured elements to make your piece uniquely yours. Under expert guidance you’ll discover traditional metalworking techniques whilst crafting a silver or copper leaf you’ll be proud to wear or gift. This session is perfectly suited for complete beginners – no jewellery making experience needed. The relaxed, supportive environment allows you to explore learning at a comfortable pace, with expert demonstration and assistance at every step. During this hands on session, you’ll master essential silversmithing skills including: Fold forming to create organic shapes Forging to create texture and form to sheet metal Saw piercing to cut out your leaf shape Safe and effective soldering methods Finishing and polishing You’ll leave the session with your own handcrafted leaf. You’ll also have foundational knowledge to continue exploring jewellery making. This rewarding experience opens up a whole new world of creative possibilities, giving you valuable insights into the art of working with precious metals. Materials: Silver is in addition to the course fee and will be worked out by weight.
