Created by Buxton Civic Association (BCA) in partnership with the Thomas Theyer Foundation , the trail explores the Animals of Buxton: Past & Present , from prehistoric creatures to the wildlife that lives in Buxton today. If you’re looking for family activities in the Peak District , things to do in Buxton , or an engaging nature trail in Derbyshire , Thomas’s Trail is the perfect outdoor adventure! Explore Animals of Buxton – Past & Present Pick up your Thomas’s Trail Booklet from Poole’s Cavern Visitor Centre and follow the woodland route to discover: 13 illustrated animal discs suspended from trees with a 14 th bonus disc to find if you wish! Tickets & Admission Free with your Poole’s Cavern Tour Entry Ticket £2 per trail booklet for trail-only access Thomas’s Trail is family-friendly and easy to find, just a short walk from the Poole’s Cavern Visitor Centre.

Featuring original music, magic, and mayhem, The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a spectacular, dramatic, and fun-filled theatrical adventure for the whole family from Cahoots, co-produced with Buxton Opera House. Once, there was a wooden village, nestled at the edge of a dark and magical forest. Beyond the trees lay a sparkling world of ice and snow, where the northern lights danced across the sky in all their colourful majesty. It was in this land that Gunda was born. One day, Gunda discovers that the Sorcerer is searching for an apprentice. Sparks fly when she realises she has competition for the role, and she is plunged into an exciting and dangerous adventure to save her family - and her right to become… The Sorcerer’s Apprentice !
