Join the great Victorian novelist Charles Dickens as he brings to life one of the most famous ghost stories of all time. A tale of revenants and redemption, hauntings and humbugs, seasonal spooks and sentiment. Award-winning actor and writer Jonathan Goodwin performs as Dickens in this one-man performance, co-directed by Goodwin and Gary Archer. Enjoy this classic Christmas tale surrounded by the beauty of Sandon Hall in its festive finery. Drinks will be available to purchase pre-show and during the interval.

Discover Sandon Wilding and experience how the landscape shifts from day to evening, with a guided tour from the Wilding team will be collected from Sandon Hall and driven to the heart of the wilding area. Learn the history of the land and how the transformation to Wilding principles, is seeing the emergence of lost species of birds, small and large mammals and deer, through the shifting mosaic of wild grassland and woodland, See the White Park Cattle and Exmoor ponies and learn how their natural behaviours encourage plant diversity and create a variety of habitats, maintaining a balance between open pasture and woodland Connect with nature and contemplate the developing visual landscape, enjoy the complexity in the vistas and challenge yourself to see the beauty in nature in new ways. Refreshments: The Safari ends at sunset with a drink and a traditional homemade Oatcake, cooked onsite. The Sunset Safari is a two hour experience, the time will vary slightly to align with the Sunset time over the summer months. Imaginary Landscapes brings together the spellbinding poetry of Chris Tutton, acclaimed author, performer and raconteur, with the semi improvised harp brilliance of international award-winning harpist, Lucy Nolan in a performance of words by Chris and music by Lucy. Together they have graced stages from the Hay Festival to the Royal Albert Hall, delighting audiences at sold-our shows across the UK. Chris Tutton is the critically acclaimed and award winning author of eight collections of poetry. Coined by Ned Sherrin as “the master of the short poem” his work has also been described as “absolutely beautiful” and “philosophy in poetry form”. Lucy Nolan is an award-winning international Harpist, passionate about challenging and evolving new styles of harp playing through collaboration, composition and performance. Join us for a wonderful evening of poetry & music in the enchanting surroundings of Sandon Hall. Arrival from 5pm for a 6pm performance.

Sandon Hall Christmas Carol Concert

Due to popular demand we are thrilled to offer two carol concerts at Sandon Hall this Christmas. Come and celebrate the festive season in the beautiful setting of Sandon Hall. We will once again be joined by the wonderful Fulford Community Choir. This special event combines beautifully performed Christmas carols with traditional festive readings. A heart-warming celebration of music, literature and Christmas Tradition. Tickets include refreshments - a welcome drink on arrival, mulled wine or non-alcoholic Winter Punch alongside some festive treats. Our bar will also be open pre-concert for any additional refreshments. 1st Carol Concert: Arrival from 13:30 hrs Carols & readings from 14:30 hrs Carriages 15:30hrs 2nd Carol Concert: Arrival from 16:00 hrs Carols & readings from 17:00 hrs Carriages 18:00 hrs Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to arrive early to secure your spot.
