TOWER TOURS AND CREAM TEAS Occurring Sunday 02 August 2026, Sunday 09 August 2026, Sunday 16 August 2026, Sunday 23 August 2026, Sunday 30 August 2026 at for 3 hours Venue St Cuthbert's, Wells Address St Cuthbert Street Wells, BA5 2AW, United Kingdom Once again this August, St Cuthbert’s is inviting visitors to climb the church tower to see the amazing views of Wells and the surrounding countryside. Not only do visitors have the fun of climbing up the 166 steps of the spiral staircase and gazing over the parapet at the top, they will also meet bell-ringers, find out about bell-ringing and have a go themselves. And, of course, there are memories of Hot Fuzz and that nasty incident …..! The tower is open on every Sunday afternoon in August with tours running on the hour from 2.00 until 4.00. Numbers are limited so it is advisable to book beforehand. Regrettably, children under the age of eight are not allowed to climb up. The first tours are on Sunday 2nd August. Cream Teas (£5.00) are also available on those Sundays: to help recovery after climbing up(!); for those who don’t fancy climbing up; and for anyone who would just like a cream tea in a beautiful setting on a summer afternoon!
