Website / Facebook / Instagram / YouTube Courtney Burton has been a cherished performer in the Twin Cities jazz scene for over 25 years, enchanting audiences with her rich, velvety voice and heartfelt delivery. With her band, Court's In Session, she breathes new life into jazz standards and classics from the Great American Songbook, performed in the tradition of the jazz era—with a touch of blues and a wealth of soul. From Courtney’s website: "It was an invitation (almost 20-years ago) to audition for and then join Beasley's Big Band that gifted me with friendship and mentoring from jazz artists who were there as jazz took shape. I’ve been with this 18-piece jazz band for more than 18-years. During my days in the corporate world, that meant I was prioritizing my workload and travel to ensure I could make all performances. Singing was the creative balance I needed. And I couldn’t help but marvel at how incredibly blessed I was during each performance. As it is for many artists, arriving at today has been a journey. Court's In Session was founded in 2009 to honor three of the senior members of Beasley's Big Band (BBB) Ruben Haugen (saxophone/clarinet), Roger Bartlett (trombone and upright bass), and Mel Carter Sr. (trumpet) who served as mentors and teachers to anyone willing to be under their tutelage."

Sarah Morris

Sarah Morris

Official Site / Facebook Sarah Morris has a habit of missing the forest. From the day the Minneapolis based singer-songwriter picked up a guitar, armed with the bone-deep memory of her parents’ well-loved record collection and rooted in the storytelling fire of a Mary Chapin Carpenter tune, she’s been too busy crafting love letters to the details of the trees. Sarah’s endearingly honest, expertly penned songs encourage audiences to pull away from the big picture and get caught up in the magic of our everyday minutia, the rainy day ache in her sunlit voice granting us permission to escape into stories at once hauntingly familiar and uniquely her own. A graduate of the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music, Sarah spent the first years of her career in Nashville, losing herself in the art of writing timeless Americana melodies. “Sarah Morris [is] a bright, clear, brilliant songwriter,” wrote Jon Hunt of L’Etoile Magazine. “…pure and crisp and perfect.” In the eight years since her 2011 debut album, Lonely or Free, Sarah’s career, like her songs, has been overflowing with delicious details. Ordinary Things (2015)and Hearts in Need of Repair (2017), recorded with band mates Thomas Nordlund and Andrew Foreman with producer Eric Blomquist, earned international airplay and considerable critical acclaim, reaching notable positions on both the Americana Music Association and Euro Americana charts.
