Volunteering @ Patten's Rock Quarry

Join us at Patten’s Rock Quarry within Benthall Edge to do our annual orchid count on this fantastic site! We will be counting common spotted, greater butterfly and twayblade orchids, as well as keeping an eye out for other interesting species. Terrain: Steep with steps – 20-30minute walk to the site! What you need to know All activities are subject to change at short notice due to inclement weather or other circumstances. Our minibus can take you to the site, picking up at 9.45am from Coalbrookdale Community Centre on Darby Road. Or you can meet on site(Volunteers are informed each week if we will be using the minibus) If you will be travelling in the minibus, please inform us in advance to ensure there are enough seats. Bring sturdy footwear (preferably steel toe-capped boots for practical activities), outdoor clothing, waterproofs, refreshments and packed lunch. We provide tea/coffee and biscuits in the morning break. We will provide tools, training, gloves, hard hats, goggles, hand sanitizer.
