About this event
This course is designed for adults living with or recovering from mental health conditions and adults with mild learning difficulties. The course offers a supportive and inclusive learning environment where you will build a portfolio of work as you improve literacy and communication skills, and develop social interaction through collaborative learning. Term 1 focuses on developing your existing literacy and communication skills through a range of relevant and engaging topics. You will strengthen reading and writing while improving speaking and listening skills through collaborative activities and structured group interaction. During pair work, group discussions and debates you can practise listening, taking turns, expressing opinions, and build your confidence in group communication. You will be supported to share ideas and participate in activities where critical thinking and respectful discussion are encouraged. The course aims to create a safe and positive learning environment where you can develop confidence, social engagement, and the foundations for more independent learning.
