About this event
A fun session for the festive season and a gorgeous new medium to try! Learn the metalwork skill of hand piercing to produce unique copper or brass creations for the tree or as a token gift to commemorate the year. Charlotte is a Sheffield based metalsmith and she will introduce you to the joys of working in copper. During the day you will: see examples of what you can create view a demonstration on saw piercing copper practice using the piercing saw, navigating curves and angles learn how to use textured punches to create different effects learn techniques for finishing During the day you will work on your own designs. You will be able to choose from a selection of ready-made templates that you can adapt, or have a free rein and create your own unique designs. You should go home with two or three completed decorations. Please note there is a £10 materials charge payable to the tutor on the day.
