PATRONAL FESTIVAL (click to read notes)

St Gabriel's DayAt this time of year we keep the feast day of St Gabriel, our patron saint. The end of September always sees the feast day of All Angels, sometimes known as "Michaelmas" or "St Michael and All Angels" or "Michael, Gabriel, & Raphael, Archangels".Our practice is to keep a special celebration of Michaelmas on the exact date (29 September) each year, and ALSO to celebrate St Gabriel on the nearest Sunday (if the 29th is not already a Sunday, of course) - this usually means the last Sunday of September, but sometimes the first Sunday of October.The Patronal Celebrations usually extend across the entire weekend, with other events taking place.
