This high-energy party band is all about big vocals, tight musicianship, and an atmosphere that gets everyone involved from the very first song. With a dynamic line-up and seriously talented performers, GrooveShack know exactly how to bring a crowd to life and keep the dancefloor buzzing all evening. Expect a non-stop mix of classic hits and modern favourites, covering everything from timeless singalong anthems to funky soul, pop, and party classics. Their wide-ranging setlist is designed to keep all ages entertained and on their feet. Our popular summer season of concerts is back, and this year we are bringing even more performances across a wider variety of genres to The Oval Bandstand & Lawns. The Oval’s Summer Sundays concerts take place throughout the summer season (subject to weather conditions). Bandstand concerts are back for a glorious summer of entertainment!

Margate Textile Society meeting

Weekly meetings around the love of textile techniques, materials, styles, meanings, socio-political impact and potential for change and healing whilst honing and sharing timeless skills. No previous experience required. Bring your project or start one here! Tools, supplies, and support available. Donations of fabrics and yarn always appreciated. Drop-in £5 or £15 monthly, including refreshments [cake, teas and juice]. No one turned away for lack of funds. Free of under 18 or over 65. Ph: The first quilt is coming together! Two hundred and fifty of the about 1,000 fabric hexagons needed for this classic paper-pieced English quilt are now ready, as more hands join in to stitch it together. This beauty will be auctioned in support of the Weaving an Axis of Resilience: Manar, Daughter of Palestine initiative next September. Italian sourdough pizza with vegan and gluten-free options; bar with beers, ciders, cocktails and Italian wines; Thursday potato gnocchi & tiramisù; teas and brews, all served from 6pm. Sand Art Outdoors at The Oval – Calm Creative Play by the Sea Join us at The Oval Bandstand & Lawns in Margate for a relaxed outdoor Sand Art session designed especially for children who enjoy calm, focused creativity. Calm hands. Careful pouring. Bright colours.No rushing. No mess. No pressure. Sand art is a gentle, hands-on activity where children sprinkle and layer colourful sand to create a picture or bottle to take home as a keepsake. It’s simple, absorbing and wonderfully satisfying. Mess-contained (sand stays in trays) No glue or glitter SEN-aware and inclusive Children work at their own pace This session is especially lovely for children who enjoy:• choosing their own colours• predictable, step-by-step activities• quiet, focused play If your child prefers calm creativity over loud or high-energy activities, this is for them.
