What initially seems like a hopeful fresh start gradually gives way to growing unease as her eldest brother’s increasingly volatile behaviour disrupts the family’s fragile sense of stability. Beautifully photographed and confidently crafted, filmmaker Sophy Romvari draws on her own childhood experiences to create an intimate and deeply affecting portrait of family, memory, and loss. With remarkable sensitivity, Blue Heron explores the emotional landscape of childhood, the complexities of familial relationships, and the often elusive nature of understanding those we love most.
