Bemix Discovery Catering

About this event

We regularly welcome social enterprise Bemix Discovery Catering and their wonderful group, those with and without learning difficulties. Tuesdays, 10am – 4pm At Westgate Hall community venue, they enjoy time together gaining skills in cooking and catering. The group are supported to develop and prepare recipes, learn about healthy eating, gain skills in using kitchen equipment, work towards qualifications in hospitality and catering and be supported to work at catering bookings and local events. During Covid-19 restrictions, the group still came together, at a social distance in our Covid-secure venue, to plan recipes for when they can get cooking again and host their regular pop-up cafe at the Hall. Bemix supports adults with learning difficulties to speak up and make choices that are right for them. Specifically, Bemix supports people to become more independent in learning, housing, work, health, money, travel, hobbies / activities and relationships.
