Local naturalist John Pelter leads us through the woodland to discover and observe a range of fungi. Depending on the weather, this popular walk includes a number of stopping points to share knowledge on individual specimens. If we are lucky, it may include: Fly Agaric and Magpie Inkcap.

Hoverflies, beetles, moths, dragonflies, and more, we hope! Local naturalist, John Pelter, will have his eye truly focused and will guide us through a varied terrain including fields, woodland and riverbank. Be prepared for spotting creatures close-up and those buzzing around us!

Led by John Bruce, Chair of Jubilee Country Park, who is a long-time expert on nature and exploring plants and wildflowers that grow in these woods and meadows. He will show us a range of species along our route and point out the context of their environment.

St Paul's Cray Common - Beating the Bounds

Celebrating our ancient folk-religious related rituals, our leaders, Kevin Jennings and Mary Wheeler of Chislehurst Commons, will lead us along a section of parish boundary crossing National Trust, Willett Wood and St Paul’s Cray Common. We shall consider the dramatic change of habitat and landscape, including heathland conservation and ongoing surveys of reptiles along the way.

Autumn Trees - Walk and Talk

National Trust Petts Woods Area Ranger, Luke Underwood, guides us through the woods by helping us identify the trees that make up the 350 acres of woodland. Luke will also point out the recent work undertaken to improve Tong Farm at Hawkwood Estate, and the improvements, which include the planting of trees.
