About this event
There will be a tour and talk at 10.30am which will be repeated at 3pm on the same day. Please note that tickets are valid for one tour only. The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus opened in 1860. The building is a relatively simple shape, but its interior is very striking – fourteen large paintings of the Stations of the Cross by the Bavarian artist Peter Rauth, all beautifully restored at the start of this century. In 2025 magnificent new stained-glass windows by Sarah Galloway were installed above and behind the altar. Sarah Galloway is a contemporary artist renowned for her work in architectural glass. During these tours she will be talking about her work. Tickets from Eventbrite. Exploring Sacred Space is organised in conjunction with the National Churches Trust.
