Cygnet Art School – Summer Term for all Abilities (5yrs – 12yrs) Saturday 10:00 – 11:00 with Clare Langley Cygnets Art School Grantham | Grantham Museum, Main Hall Term dates: 2 May 2026; 9 May 2026; 16 May 2026; 23 May 2026; 6 June 2026; 13 June 2026; 20 June 2026; 27 June 2026; 4 July 2026 Weekly term-time art class teaching step-by-step, traditional drawing, painting and sculpture. Unique projects; experienced teachers, and professional quality materials. Our 5-12 groups are suitable for all abilities, and projects are designed carefully to be stimulating and challenging for everyone. The theme for the Summer Term (Apr–Jul) is ‘Native American Culture’ This term, students will explore the rich cultures, landscapes, and symbolism of Native American communities through a thoughtfully curated series of art projects. Children will learn how art has been used to tell stories, honour nature, and express identity, while developing their own creative voice. Inspired by traditional patterns, powerful animal symbolism, dramatic landscapes, and meaningful artefacts, students will experiment with a wide range of materials and techniques.

Canterbury Academy Trust

The Canterbury Academy – the “school of all talents” – are at Westgate Hall, for their regular practice and rehearsal session, from 10am to 6pm. We support local young people to thrive and flourish by providing a large, safe education venue for them to train in, right in the heart of Canterbury city centre. Bemix Discovery Catering

We regularly welcome social enterprise Bemix Discovery Catering and their wonderful group, those with and without learning difficulties. Tuesdays, 10am – 4pm At Westgate Hall community venue, they enjoy time together gaining skills in cooking and catering. The group are supported to develop and prepare recipes, learn about healthy eating, gain skills in using kitchen equipment, work towards qualifications in hospitality and catering and be supported to work at catering bookings and local events. During Covid-19 restrictions, the group still came together, at a social distance in our Covid-secure venue, to plan recipes for when they can get cooking again and host their regular pop-up cafe at the Hall. Bemix supports adults with learning difficulties to speak up and make choices that are right for them. Specifically, Bemix supports people to become more independent in learning, housing, work, health, money, travel, hobbies / activities and relationships.
