FREE, FORM & FLOW in the FOREST Mineral Pigments A Day Immersion in Creative Expression June 14th 10 am – 4 pm Learn to make paints using foraged natural materials with earth, clay, rocks & stones These stand-alone sessions are for anyone who wishes to move from mass-produced colours and reconnect in a new and deeper way to the landscape around us, through exploration with treasures from the natural environment. Expand your creative flow through intuitive approaches that free the mind to new forms of artistic expression. We will be using traditional methods to produce paint from foraged minerals and recording our findings in sketchbooks. We will be focusing on the areas in and around this woodland, with its river and footpath boundaries providing an abundance of colour, creating a unique natural palette. Monthly Meditation Morning In The Woods - June

FIRESIDE MONTHLY MEDITATION MORNING IN THE WOODS 10.30 am – 12.00 pm Held on the last Sunday of every month With Marc Biddle Welcome to the peaceful setting of The Deer Wood Outdoor Circular Shelter, where Marc will begin the morning by gently guiding you into a deep state of stillness. We will start by setting the space, making simple offerings and giving thanks, this includes a ceremonial tea sharing in quietude. Followed by 30 minutes of guided meditation, which will differ each month, in various traditions (eg Daoist practices, Pranayama, Kriya or Vipassana). The second half of the session is for sitting in total silence together. The silent meditation will be closed with the sound of a gong before we walk mindfully back through the woods. Please bring your own yoga mat, cushions, blankets and a water bottle. Spaces are limited to 10 so booking is essential.Please contact: COST: This is a cash donation event.All proceeds go towards our conservation and social outreach programmes. Please note – this is a dog-free, non-smoking and plant-based venue.

MINDFUL MARK-MAKING IN THE WOODS - Art Meditation In Nature

MINDFUL MARK-MAKING IN THE WOODS Art Meditation in Nature Sunday 28th June2 pm – 4 pm The positive responses from using guided meditation in all of her creative immersion days have encouraged Deer Wood in-house tutor, Lisa Pugh, to research new ways of developing her art and Reiki practice.Over the course of these sessions, Lisa will be exploring a progression of creative flow through mindful exercises in free-forming pattern and mark-making on paper, using pencils, natural paints and inks, combined with her unique style of ‘Art Healing’ with Reiki. Using different meditative techniques to relax into the natural movement of pen or brush without intention, allowing yourself to be with whatever flows, with no objective for the outcome, focusing on the sensation of movement. Regular monthly sessions are now running to coincide with Marc’s Monthly Meditation Morning on the last Sunday of each month until September.
