Fancy joining the railway team? Would you like to know about volunteering at Apedale Valley Light Railway? Wonder no more; April 25 is the date for your diary. On this day, they will be running New Member’s Day. This will be the day when you can along to Apedale Valley Light Railway and find out about becoming a member of the Moseley Railway Trust and helping to run and maintain the railway and all the things which go with it. There will be tours and talks covering the following areas: General membership Shop work Restoration/engineering Railway operations You’ll be able to take a look behind the scenes, and have a go (under supervision!) at jobs like driving locos and being a train Guard. If you sign up for Trust membership on this day, your membership will run through to the end of 2027! Events will run from 1100 until 1500. If you are interested, please register beforehand by sending an e-mail to and letting them know what area of the Trust’s work you may be interested in. If you’re unsure – that’s not a problem, but please let them know you’re coming along. Please note that this event is run by the Apedale Valley Light Railway. For info see www.avlr.org.uk.
