Good Evening Presents: Kourosh Kanani and Matt Davies

Guitarist Kourosh Kanani and percussionist Matt Davies interweave the rich traditions of Iran, Azerbijian and South Indian Rhythm with Contemporary Jazz and modern music making approaches. Egyptian singer/songwriter Amena celebrates and combines both traditional and contemporary Arabic Music and Jazz. This collaborative performance combines expressive guitar work, a rethinking of the drum kit and the innovative use of electronics with Amenas transcendental voice in a powerful dialogue between ancient cultural legacies and cutting-edge sound worlds. Deep rooted yet unbound by convention, expect mesmerising music that transcends borders, time, and genre. A tribute to heritage and a bold exploration of its modern relevance. Good Evening has been collaborating with the Royal Albert to present great live music every Sunday night for over a decade. The program is rooted in Jazz ranging from its earliest forms to cutting edge contemporary fusions and everything in between, played by an ever growing circle of musicians from modern day masters to rising stars.
