Going into the mountains is an end in itself. But what could it mean in terms of our spiritual and emotional wellbeing? Christians often find mountains to be spiritual places where they meet with their Creator. This shouldn't surprise us - Moses, Elijah, and Jesus did too. How then should we approach this? Is it simply a case of "going for a nice walk", or are their spiritual practices that we can employ during our times on the hills, to help us to draw near to God and hear from him? How can we more fully experience reconciliation with God, with ourselves, with others, and with Creation itself, in a practical and mindful way in the mountain environment? During this one-day experience of mountain pilgrimage in the Ochil Hills, you will learn different practices and disciplines that you can then put to use during your own hillwalking. How will this work? Starting in Glen Devon, this one-day learning experience will use the [Glen Sherup Horseshoe](https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/fife-stirling/glen-sherup.shtml) as a location for teaching and practising a variety of spiritual disciplines that help us to have an encounter with God and with ourselves in the outdoors. In practice, you wouldn't use all of the things you'll learn in a single day. But you will leave with a list of ideas and practices that you can try out in your own time afterwards.
