@ Speech Course A week of exploring English speech and speaking English poetry Sunday 9 August, 2pm – Friday 14 August, 1pm Monday to Thursday: 10am – 5pm Lunch break: 1pm – 2pm Join two professional speech artists, Lindsay-May Dearlove and Sarah Kane, for an embodied exploration of English poetry. Every day of the five-day workshop will consist of sessions to develop the essential tools of speech, breathing and articulation, and to refine how we speak poems by such writers as Shakespeare, Shelley, Hopkins and T.S. Eliot. This course aims to refresh and restore each of our souls with the help of the majesty, beauty and dynamism of the English language. It is open to anyone with a love of English poetry and willing to work at conjuring the magic of words. Please bring soft-soled shoes and comfortable clothing suitable for movement, as well as a poem in English you would like to explore and perform.
