Making a welcome return to The Cidermill Theatre, Jazz Dynamos, the  five-piece band that take well-known songs from the 70s and 80s and transform them with a mix of jazz, bossa, and samba are back on June 1st.Their unique set of exuberant, entertaining, and original contemporary jazz arrangements includes hits by Dolly Parton, Madonna, U2, The Police, A-ha, TearsForFears, Wham, David Bowie, Elton John, and many more.Fronted by world-class vocalist Lucy Randell, Jazz Dynamos have performed sold-out shows at the legendary Ronnie Scott’s and Soho’s Pizza Express Jazz Club, and played at festivals across the UK and Europe, as well as private events for British and Hollywood royalty.Jazz Dynamos features Lucy Randell (vocals and percussion), Mark Adelman (keyboard), Anders Janes (double bass), Dominique Metz (drums), and Stewart Curtis (saxes, flute, and piccolo).“When I saw them play, they truly blew me away” Music editor of The Independent“These are artistic re-imagining of songs, many of which are better than the originals and the breadth of the extensive repertoire is staggering” Mike Wells of The Reviews Hub

When it reappears in the harbour of a rundown Cornish fishing village, it feels like a sign: if the Rose sets sail again, perhaps the village’s luck will turn. Nick (George MacKay) takes a job aboard, joined by drifter Liam (Callum Turner). The boat and its voyage are symbols of hope, but when Nick and Liam dock again, something strange has happened – instead of moving into the future, they have re-entered the past.Rose of Nevada is an unconventional story about grief, identity and the vagaries of time. Like Bait, it’s shot in 16mm (though this time in bold colour) and delights in distinctive texture and composition in a way that makes it feel like a found object – a film by and of Cornwall and the sea.

Featuring stunning vocal harmonies from world-class musicians, this spectacular concert transports you on a journey through the epic songs and history of the much-loved Simon and Garfunkel. “One of the greatest tribute shows anywhere in the world” Stuart Cameron, BBC and ITV Broadcaster The show is a celebration of the unprecedented rise to fame of two boys from Queens, New York, who went on to become the most successful folk-rock duo of the 1960s, selling 38 million albums in the US alone, and receiving 10 Grammy Awards. In 1981, they performed to over half a million people in their hometown of New York, and in 1990 were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.​ Collectively known as Bookends, Dan Haynes and Pete Richards have been fronting Simon & Garfunkel Through the Years since its creation in 2011. Orban Wallace’s (Another News Story, Robin) invigorating documentary examines the intense debate around the right to roam in the UK and beyond.The UK countryside is a wild and beautiful place, but the vast majority is off limits to the general public, with 92% of land and 97% of all rivers in England not legally accessible. At the same time, it is a landscape shaped by centuries of inheritance and tradition, with land held and cared for by families across multiple generations. Through organised mass trespass events, the Right to Roam movement aims to increase public access to nature, bringing it into conflict with England’s landowners. Here, Wallace gives voice to both the activists fighting to broaden access and the custodians fighting to restrict it in the name of stewardship.Energising and clarifying, Our Land explores and challenges age-old beliefs around property that have shaped our relationship with the land for over a thousand years, revealing in detail how questions of ownership are intricately tied to histories of colonialism, class and power.
