North East Deaf Youth Theatre - October 2026 Workshop

Image credit - Von Fox Promotions Come along for an exciting Autumn with the North East Deaf Youth Theatre! Save the dates for 19th September, 17th October, 14th November, and 17th December from 9:30am - 11:30am. (Please note that our December session will be a Christmas Go and See trip). We aim to support deaf children and young people (ages 5-12) to enhance their creative skills, their confidence and form new friendships in an inclusive and encouraging environment. In partnership with leading deaf arts organisation Turtléar, we explore the realm of theatre through storytelling, acting, creative writing, a lot of fun drama games and much more! Together, we’ll produce original productions to proudly share to the community along with friends and family. Our workshops are facilitated by Creative Associate and founder of Turtléar, EJ Raymond. EJ is profoundly deaf and a BSL user with a BA in Performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. They are also an actor and writer who’s passion inspire many young creatives to venture into film making, performing and more! Monthly Sessions for 2026 Our sessions, held on the third Saturday of each month, offer a safe and supportive space for deaf children to explore their creativity and connect with peers. 2026 Block 6 Online

2026 Block 6 Online A five week course of fully-online fiddle tuition, accessible on Zoom and YouTube from anywhere and at any time. In-depth sets of Video Tutorials, which include elements of technique, tunes taught by the phrase and a detailed look at bowing, ornamentation or stylistic interpretation. Wednesday evening live Zoom calls, 7.00 – 8.30 pm, including Fiddle Practice and Tune Learning in the Zoom workshop, plus playthroughs of previous tunes which form our core repertoire. Recordings of all Zoom calls available for catch-up on demand. 2026 Block 6 Online will run from Wednesday 4th Nov – 2nd December Full details will be available on the Classes page – please read before purchasing. Join taxidermist Sherene Scott for the first workshop of its kind in the North East, learning how to preserve a number of stunning specimens that you get to take home. In this rare & intimate workshop, you’ll learn the basics in preparing, setting & preserving a series of enchanting insects. This workshop, is to focus on the beautiful Swallowtail species ALL curious creations you preserve get to come home with you – and last forever! Each ticket includes: 1.5 hour workshop with professional taxidermist Sherene Scott (aka THE MOTHER OF MOTH) Your own preserved set of enchanting butterflies to take home Teas, coffee & water A fun, encouraging safe space to meet like-minded souls! FYI: Limited to 4 spaces.
