Face Painting for Beginners Workshop (Age 10+) – Summer Holiday Workshops

Face Painting for Beginners Workshop. Get ready for all those summer events by learning the skills to bring face painting to life! Whether it’s younger siblings, cousins or friends, you’ll have so much fun creating colourful designs on faces and arms throughout the season. In this fun and relaxed session, you’ll learn how to use water-based face paints to achieve bright, vibrant and popular designs with confidence. Morning Session: Beginners 10am – 12pm During the workshop you’ll cover: Which paints to use Essential hygiene practices Sponging techniques Using colour effectively in your designs Brushwork basics You’ll then put your new skills into practice by creating a tiger and butterfly design, with plenty of tips and ideas to help you develop many more designs at home. Afternoon Session: Floral Flourishes 1-3pm Florals are so much fun to paint, there are endless ways to add botanical elements to a face painting design and they appeal to children and adults alike. Discover quick and easy ways to paint them in this session. Double dip flowers Daisies Roses We will then put these techniques into practice to create a floral eye design, floral crown or arm design. All professional paints and materials are included, along with a helpful list of recommended supplies and where to source them. You can practice on boards/paper, yourself, or a friend. Suitable for older children aged 10+ and teens – no experience needed.

Drawing Seahorses Workshop (Age 8+) – Summer Holiday Workshops

Drawing Seahorses – Get into the holiday spirit with our exciting workshop tailored for young artists aged 8 and up, with a focus on the gentle sea horse. We’ll start with some warm-up exercises to get our hands moving and our minds focused, before diving into the beautiful world of sea horses. Sea horses are tiny uniquely shaped marine fish named for their horse-lile heads and bend necks. They are renowned for their upright swimming posture, prehensile tails, and lack of scales, utilizing rigid bony plates for armour. First, Lucy will guide you as you complete a technical drawing of a seahorse, sharing her tips on how to add tone to make your art truly come alive. She’ll also provide a helpful recap on using graphite pencils to create amazing effects that enhance your drawings.Next, we’ll shift our focus to real-life images, where you’ll learn to capture the essence of your subjects using vibrant chalk pastels and colouring pencils. This workshop strikes the perfect balance between creativity and technical skill, making it a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to improve their drawing abilities while exploring summer-inspired themes. Sketching Sea Shells Workshop (Age 8+) – Summer Holiday Workshops

Sketching Sea Shells – Get into the holiday spirit with this shell themed technical drawing workshop designed for young artists aged 8+. We’ll begin with a few warm-up exercises to loosen up our hands and sharpen our focus before diving into the fascinating structure of shells. First, Lucy will guide you through drawing two different types of shells, modelling how to add texture and tone to bring your drawings to life. As always, Lucy will recap how to use the graphite pencils to render different effects appropriate to the subject. Next, we’ll move onto working from images created by Lucy, exploring how to reflect the subject matter using colourful chalk pastels. More confident artists can work from a selection of shell photos specially curated for the workshop.This workshop is a perfect mix of creativity and technical skill—ideal for anyone who wants to improve their drawing skills whilst exploring objects related to the summer season! Lucy says “Art has always been one of my passions. I studied it at Hertford Regional College, where I discovered how much I loved the process of drawing — really looking at something and capturing its form on paper. Later, at De Montfort University, I took this further with a degree in Arts Management, which gave me a deeper appreciation of how art connects people and communities. Since 2017, I’ve been teaching in primary schools across East Herts and Essex.

Restore Course - Applications Now Open

APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN. Restore is a 10 week course which provides the opportunity for you to address personal issues in a safe and confidential environment, uncovering habitual deceptions you've believed about yourself, other people and God's character. Essentially, Restore is a prayer-centred course that aims to teach you how to use the tools you need to actively rely on Jesus and how to access healing from wounds and disappointments you may have experienced. Many people who've completed the course have fed back that they've experienced a level of transformation, enabling them to move into deeper, healthier relationships with God, themselves and others. The course starts on Wednesday 16 September. You will need to complete and return an application form before the closing date of Tuesday 1st September. If you would like to apply, please email  and request an application form. We charge a £60 course fee which helps us to cover your Restore course materials & our running costs. You can just pay a £20 deposit when you sign up. Your application will be reviewed by the appropriate Restore Co-Ordinator and we will advise whether we are able to offer to you a place on the course as soon as possible.
