October Seasonal Landscape Painting Course - Wednesday Mornings

October Seasonal Landscape Painting Course – Autumn Woodland Light Join me for this immersive 10-hour landscape painting course and learn how to create an atmospheric countryside scene filled with light, depth and mood. Working from a beautiful late-summer landscape, we’ll explore how sunlight filters through trees, illuminates grasses and creates a sense of space across the landscape. Inspired by the changing seasons and the warm, golden light of early autumn, this composition offers the perfect opportunity to develop a more expressive and confident approach to landscape painting. Working in acrylics on 45cm × 38cm MDF board, you’ll be guided step by step through the process I use in my own paintings to build atmosphere, depth and light. Held over four consecutive weeks, this course allows time to work thoughtfully, building layers and refining your composition to create a beautifully light-filled spring landscape. By the end of the course, you’ll have a substantial landscape painting and a deeper understanding of how to create light-filled, atmospheric countryside scenes. As with my own work, you may choose to continue refining and developing your painting at home using the techniques and knowledge gained during the course. This course is suitable for both developing painters and those looking to build confidence in landscape painting.

Full Afternoon Landscape Painting Workshop - 'Misty River Light'

Full Afternoon Landscape Painting Workshop – October ‘Misty River Light’ A 4½ hour immersive landscape painting workshop. Immerse yourself in the quiet beauty of an atmospheric river landscape bathed in the soft glow of early light. In this extended afternoon workshop, we’ll explore how to create a sense of depth, mood and luminosity as mist drifts across the landscape and warm sunlight breaks through the horizon. A winding river draws the eye through the composition, while silhouetted trees emerge gently from the haze, creating a scene that feels both peaceful and timeless. To enable you to complete the painting within the workshop, we’ll be working on a 30cm x 25cm board, allowing you to focus on the key techniques and processes needed to create a finished landscape in a single afternoon. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a well-developed landscape painting and a deeper understanding of how to create light-filled, atmospheric countryside scenes using acrylics. Many paintings will be complete by the end of the day, while others may continue to evolve afterwards — just as my own work often does. You’ll leave with the skills, techniques and confidence to further refine and develop your painting at home if you choose. Suitable for all abilities, this small-group workshop, with no more than 5 participants, offers a relaxed and supportive environment with plenty of individual guidance throughout. All materials are included, along with tea, coffee, and light refreshments.

'Painterly Wildflower' - 3½ Hour Painting Workshop

Expressive brush-led grasses and seedheads, enriched with textured sponging and sculpted impasto flowers This workshop focuses on creating a soft, painterly wildflower landscape using acrylics on board. You’ll begin by building a gentle, atmospheric background with sponged layers of textured acrylics, before developing flowing grasses, stems and seed heads using expressive brushwork to create movement, rhythm and structure across the painting. In just 3½ hours, you’ll learn the techniques and materials I use in my own work to create a richly textured floral painting of your own. Working with acrylics on board, you’ll be guided step by step to produce a unique little masterpiece — a piece of art to take home and be proud of. Your painting will be created on 3mm MDF board; a beautifully responsive and durable surface that works perfectly with layered acrylic techniques and is ideal for framing, which many participants choose to do after the session. Run from the comfort of my Studio in Ditchling, in a supportive and nurturing environment with an intimate group of up to six people, allowing one to one tuition. This workshop is suitable for all artistic abilities, even if you’re a complete novice, the methods we’ll be using are easy to learn and apply. The cost is £60 per person, including quality artists’ paints, boards, and a range of inspiring materials to experiment with. You don’t need to bring a thing, just come along and create your own little work of art.
