Our friendly, inclusive Intermediate DIY Club, Ready to up your DIY game? This friendly, hands-on Intermediate DIY Club is designed for those who’ve mastered the basics and want to tackle bigger, more ambitious home projects. The DIY Club starts on Monday 13th April 2026, and is priced at just £110, DIY Club Dates 21st Oct 28th Oct 11th Nov 18th Nov Over four relaxed weekly sessions, you’ll: Build wooden frames – the essential building blocks for shelves, cupboards, boxing-in pipes, and more Get to grips with new power tools – learn to use circular saws and jigsaws safely and efficiently, with plenty of guided practice Bring it all together – combine your skills to create real-world DIY projects, like boxing in pipework or building simple cupboards Sessions are tailored to your pace and interests, so bring your questions (and any project ideas from home). You’ll have access to a wide range of tools, expert support, and the encouragement of a small group. Sessions will start at 6.30pm, but the format is very relaxed, so feel free to turn up when you are ready. We aim to finish the sessions between 8.30 and 9pm. Spaces are limited. Fiction Writing Day with Mark Haddon

Vendor: 4024 - Drawing School + Arvon Type: Events Price: 125.00 Tutor - Mark Haddon 1-day workshop Friday 23 October 2026, 10.30am - 4.30pm The RWA is thrilled to be partnering with national creative writing charity Arvon in the development of a series of Writing Days, using the RWA's lead exhibitions as a stimulus for different forms of writing. The latest workshop, focused on fiction, is led by highly acclaimed artist and writer Mark Haddon. His bestselling novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, won seventeen literary prizes, was longlisted for the Booker Prize, was translated into 36 languages, and went on to become an award-winning stage adaptation by Simon Stephens. He has since written five more works of fiction for adults, most recently the novel The Porpoise and a collection of fables and stories, Dogs and Monsters. He has written many books for children, as well as a collection of poetry, The Talking Horse and the Sad Girl and the Village Under the Sea, and works for the stage, television and radio. His next book is a memoir including his own illustrations, Leaving Home, due to be published by Penguin in 2026. Mark has been teaching creative writing for Arvon for many years. In this welcoming and stimulating Writing Day Mark will share ideas and techniques for writing fiction, as well as leading the group through hands-on exercises.
