Big Badger Craft Club (ages 3+)

Join us for our summer Craft club – and this time the theme is badgers and their woodland friends. On Wednesday 12th August, prebook onto one of our 2 crafting sessions, at which you’ll have the choice to create lots of brilliant badger themed crafts, including: – A woodland diorama, featuring your favourite woodland animals, including badgers of course! – Use the power of the sun to create a woodland leaf work of art. – Make you very own woodland mammal identification guide – Fold an origami badger, fox, pine marten or squirrel. This event is suitable for children aged 3+. Parking is not included, usual tariffs apply. As a charity, parking is one of the main ways we raise funds to care for Stanwick Lakes. We are also excited to welcome the Northamptonshire Badger Group to the Stanwick Lakes visitor centre for this event. Come along and meet members of the group who actively involved in the welfare of Badgers in the county. Find out all about badgers, why they matter and what you can do to help them. http://www.northamptonshirebadgers.co.uk This event is an Nene Valley Mammal Youth Group. This group has been formed to inspire young people to learn about mammals and take action to protect them. Young people will be able spend time outdoors, meet like-minded people, and develop their skills to become citizen scientists and active conservationists.

Summer Art Camp

Five Weeks of Creative Fun This Summer! Looking for an inspiring and engaging activity for your child during the summer holidays? Our Summer Art Camp is designed for children aged 7 and over who love being creative, exploring new ideas, and making exciting artwork in a friendly and supportive environment. Over five fun-filled sessions, children will discover a range of artistic techniques and materials while developing their confidence, creativity, and imagination. Each week introduces a different art form, allowing young artists to experiment, learn new skills, and take home their own unique creations. What We’ll Explore Throughout the camp, participants will enjoy a variety of creative activities, including: Street Art [ 23rd July] – Learn about bold colours, patterns, lettering, and graffiti-inspired techniques. Illustration [ 30th July] – Create imaginative characters, drawings, and stories through illustration. Clay Modelling [ 6th August] – Build and sculpt exciting three-dimensional artworks using clay. T-Shirt Design [ 13th August] – Design and personalise a wearable piece of art to take home. Manga Drawing [ 20th August] – Discover the fundamentals of manga-style character design and illustration.

Batik Silk Painting Workshop: Autumn Berries

Course Overview In this hands-on, beginner-friendly class, Lisa will guide you through the beautiful and organic process of batik, a centuries-old technique that uses melted wax and vibrant inks on silk to create rich, flowing designs. Over four hours, you’ll experiment with mark-making, layering, and colour blending, before crafting your own unique silk artwork inspired by the natural forms of spring. By the end of the session, you’ll leave not only with a framed piece of art to treasure (or gift!) but also with the confidence to continue exploring this versatile medium at home. All materials are included, along with plenty of encouragement, expert tips, and creative inspiration. Whether you’re completely new to silk painting or simply curious to try something different, this is a relaxed and rewarding way to spend the day. Please bring an apron or wear old clothes as the inks may stain clothing. Please note lunch is not provided, but you are welcome to bring your own packed lunch or visit our Visitor Centre Café. This workshop is suitable for 16+. Cancellation Policy Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Cancellations made within 4 weeks of the session are non-refundable. In exceptional circumstances, please speak to our team so we can discuss how we may be able to accommodate you. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, bookings made online may be eligible for a 14-day cooling-off period.
