Full Day Landscape Painting Workshop - August

Full Day Landscape Painting Workshop – August ‘Golden Lake Reflections’ 10-5pm Join me for a full day of immersive landscape painting as we capture the beauty of a glowing sunset reflected across still water. Inspired by the warmth and atmosphere of the summer countryside, this workshop explores the techniques I use in my own landscape paintings to create depth, light and a strong sense of place. Working on a 42cm x 36cm board, you’ll learn how to build a larger, more developed landscape using layered acrylic techniques, expressive mark-making and carefully balanced colour. Throughout the day, I’ll guide you through the process of creating a landscape filled with glowing reflections, distant trees, expansive skies and luminous evening light. We’ll explore how to create depth, atmosphere and natural texture while developing a painting that feels both dramatic and tranquil. The larger board size and full-day format allow us to work on a more ambitious composition than is possible in the afternoon workshops, giving you the opportunity to explore additional detail, richer layers and a greater sense of scale whilst still completing a finished painting by the end of the session. With a maximum of five participants, you’ll benefit from plenty of individual guidance and support throughout the day. Suitable for beginners and more experienced painters alike, this workshop offers a friendly and inspiring studio environment where you can develop new skills while creating your own...

'Meadow Alchemy' 3½ Hour Painting Workshop

An immersive and inspiring workshop where you’ll learn the expressive techniques I use in my own painting practice. Process-led: paint rolling, dripping & spattering with sculpted impasto flowers ‘Meadow Alchemy’ explores a process-led approach to creating a contemporary wildflower landscape using acrylics on board. We’ll start by setting the scene and applying a soft gradient background. From there, we’ll add movement and energy with loose layers of wild grasses and stems, using different techniques such as paint rolling, dripping, and playful paint spattering. In just 3½ hours, you’ll learn the techniques and materials I use in my own work to create a richly textured landscape painting of your own. Working with acrylics on board, you’ll be guided step by step to create your own piece to take home and be proud of, with the understanding and confidence to keep refining it further if you wish. Your painting will be created on a 25cm x 25cm 3mm MDF board; a beautifully responsive and durable surface that works perfectly with layered acrylic techniques and is ideal for framing, which many participants choose to do after the session. Run from the comfort of my Studio in Ditchling, in a supportive and nurturing environment with an intimate group of up to six people, allowing one to one tuition. Suitable for all artistic abilities, even if you’re a complete novice, the methods we’ll be using are easy to learn and apply. The cost is £60 per person, including quality artists’...

Full Afternoon Landscape Painting Workshop – September ‘Autumn Meadow Light’ A 4½ hour immersive landscape painting workshop. Capture the warmth and atmosphere of an early autumn evening in this inspiring half-day landscape painting workshop. Working from a beautiful countryside scene bathed in golden light, you’ll learn how to create a loose, atmospheric landscape using the expressive acrylic techniques I use in my own work. We’ll explore colour layering, depth, texture, soft transitions and the effects of light as it filters across the landscape. This composition combines a winding meadow path, wild grasses, delicate late-summer flowers and a glowing sunset sky, making it the perfect subject for exploring light, mood and distance within a landscape. To enable you to complete the painting within the workshop, we’ll be working on a 30cm x 25cm board, allowing you to focus on the key techniques and processes needed to create a finished landscape in a single afternoon. With a maximum of just five participants, you’ll benefit from plenty of individual guidance and support as I demonstrate how to create convincing water reflections, distant trees, soft atmospheric effects and the gentle glow of sunset across the landscape. Full Afternoon Landscape Painting Workshop - 'Misty River Light'

Full Afternoon Landscape Painting Workshop – October ‘Misty River Light’ A 4½ hour immersive landscape painting workshop. Immerse yourself in the quiet beauty of an atmospheric river landscape bathed in the soft glow of early light. In this extended afternoon workshop, we’ll explore how to create a sense of depth, mood and luminosity as mist drifts across the landscape and warm sunlight breaks through the horizon. A winding river draws the eye through the composition, while silhouetted trees emerge gently from the haze, creating a scene that feels both peaceful and timeless. To enable you to complete the painting within the workshop, we’ll be working on a 30cm x 25cm board, allowing you to focus on the key techniques and processes needed to create a finished landscape in a single afternoon. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a well-developed landscape painting and a deeper understanding of how to create light-filled, atmospheric countryside scenes using acrylics. Many paintings will be complete by the end of the day, while others may continue to evolve afterwards — just as my own work often does. You’ll leave with the skills, techniques and confidence to further refine and develop your painting at home if you choose. Suitable for all abilities, this small-group workshop, with no more than 5 participants, offers a relaxed and supportive environment with plenty of individual guidance throughout. All materials are included, along with tea, coffee, and light refreshments.
